Any player not signed is up for free Agency. You may place a bid on any player by posting the player name, team, and position as the title thread and your yearly salary bid as the subject. Other teams may then increase that bid. Starting Minimum bid is based on years in the NFL. Check the league rules for details on this. Minimum bid increases are as follows:
Up to 12 hours since last bid: $250,000
12-18 hours since last bid: $500,000
18-23.99 hours since last bid: $1,000,000
When Free Agency opens each team will have 2 nominations to bid on Free Agents. They must post these nominations before bidding on any other teams nominated Free Agents. All Free Agent Bidding will take place on MFL.
Once the minimum bid has increased it will stay at that level even if there is not the same amount of time between bids. For example:
Dez Bryant is posted and initially bid on at 8M, a second bid is posted 3 hours later for 8.25M, and third bid is then posted 12 hours later for 8.75M, the next bid minimum is then $500,000 even if you are only bidding minutes after the third bid.
Once a player has not been bid on for 24 hours then that player is signed by the highest bidding team. That team then has 24 hours to post contract length under the player thread.
When bidding on players each bid will be assumed a winning bid and will count against your salary cap. If you place too many bids so that you go over the Salary cap your bids that put you over the cap will be void and you will recieve a .5M salary cap hit immediately. So pay close attention.
TJ Yates Rule: As of the 2015 calender year anyone who places a bid on a Free Agent but fails to place a contract within the required timeframe (24 hours) will automatically assign that player a one year deal at the winning bid.
