Starting on open day of the season all owners will have the ability to add an option year to the end of any of their players contracts, but only one player per year may receive the option.
Any player may have an option year added to end of his contract except for players whose contracts are expiring. To option a player you will place them under the options board with your team name, their name, team, and position as the subject. In the body of the post please put what year you are optioning the player. For Example:
Subject: Dez Bryant (DAL - WR)
Body: Option year (Whatever year will be the option year for this player).
Also beginning on March 9th you will must decide if you will keep any previously optioned players for their option year or release them. Any optioned player that you decide to release will go into the unrestricted Free Agency pool. You will incur a 50% cap hit of the optioned players salary for the upcoming year. You will decide this by posting the Player name, team, and position as the thread title and whether you decline or opt-in for the option year.
Keep the cap hit in mind when deciding on whether to add an option year.
Also, as always, RFA, Extension, Franchise, and Options may only be applied once to any given player over his career with your team.
