Owners may decide to use their 1 per year extension on any player on their team.
Extensions will cost 125% of current salary for a 1 year extension and 150% of current salary for a 2 year extension.
You may extend one player per year, even if their contract is not up. For example:
Dez Bryant has 2 years left on his contract of $8M per year. You may extend him for one year at $10M or 2 years at $12M. His salary would then be $8m for 2 years and either $10M for the third year or $12M for the 3rd and 4th year.
Keep in mind future salary cap issues as you will have to have room for any extensions.
Place your extension tags under the Extension board with the Player name, team, and position as the thread title and the extension terms as the body of the thread. IE: Dez Bryant (DAL - WR)......2 yrs @ $12M.
These threads must be formatted correctly and salaries calculated correctly or they will be deleted and need to be re-posted correctly.
You may extend a players contract even if it expiring and they would be going to Free Agency.
Keep in mind you may only RFA, option, extend, or Franchise a player once over his career on your team.
